Roller Hockey
12 July
The busiest winter holidays in quite a few years just finished yesterday and we are now back to our usual time table.
International shortages of some of the top roller skate models continue to make life interesting for us but we still have reasonable stock of many of the important sizes, with more being air-freighted from the US, arriving next week, and a container coming by sea freight, due in the next 2-3 weeks.
24 June
The Extra sessions for the Public School Holidays start from next week.
For the EXTRA Times over the Public School Holidays
As well as the usual weekend sessions see here
REMEMBER: Birthday Parties may still be booked over the holidays.
The On-line shop is operating as usual, although some of our suppliers are having an end-of-financial year stock-take and there could be small delays in getting some items out.

New roller skate stock just arrived, for those of you who have been waiting, although international demands continues to be a problem, as all of our suppliers are having difficulty in keeping up! That means we won't have enough for everyone, despite our best efforts - but we are trying.

19 December

Anniversaries are a good time to reflect and rejoice a little perhaps? 16 years ago, Christmas Eve 1993, the present proprietor walked into Rollerway to begin operation, having once worked here as a boy. Thanks to the tremendous support of the local community, an awesome crew, ever increasing popularity of "skating parties," a local roller hockey league that is bigger than most state leagues around Australia, and lets not forget one of the most successful on-line skate shops in the country, Rollerway has grown 400% over that time. Thank-you to all for making it happen. Best wishes to everyone!
BTW School Holiday sessions have just started, but we do close for a few days from 25 December (see below).
11 December

New arrangement with Riedell means that we will soon have more top quality ice and roller skates at better prices than ever!
2 December
So much to do and such little time!
School Holidays - we will be having extra sessions from 21 to 24 December, and then from 2 to 29 January. NB We will be CLOSED from 25 Dec to 1 Jan, reopening for the NIGHT SESSION ONLY on New Years Day (1/1/10)
Skate Shop - Good supplies of many skates but out-of-stock of others means you should try to get orders in ASAP (this will help ensure early delivery as we are VERY busy ATM)
Roller Hockey - Only a couple of weeks before the summer vacation!
Roller Derby - A special event will be held on Sunday morning, 6 Dec, from 11:00-1:00 (only $7 entry)
Birthday Parties (and group bookings) - Bookings are up on last year so please get in early to avoid disappointment! Also remember that bookings are still possible throughout the school/summer holidays.

MELBOURNE CUPS
- for
schools & hockey - sorry no public sessions on those

14 October
A growing economy seems like a good thing, especially for those of us in the recreational and sporting industries. We look like having 20% more hockey teams than last season for this summer comp and we should therefore cement out position as Australia's biggest independent hockey competition with those figures!
We also have had a surge in skate sales so that we are now selling over 300% more than at the same time last year and given that we were already one of Australia's top online skate shops that is quite an achievement.
Everything has a downside however and we are currently running a little behind on a few projects but we hope you can bear with us as we channel those the extra funds into new programs!
5 October
New hockey season starts today - follow the above link for more info.
Back to school for most today and back to the regular opening hours for the Centre.
Given that almost half of our staff were in Perth for the last week or two for the Skate Australia tournament, and have just got back today, things should slowly get back to "normal" soon - we hope!
3 September
Father's Day on Sunday, so just a reminder that DAD'S SKATE FREE when accompanying a paying child on the day!
Inline Roller Hockey League finals starting next week. Good luck to all and don't forget to get your teams in for next season, which starts just after the school holidays.
Speaking of school holidays, they aren't far away, so as always, extra Monday to Friday sessions will be running.
The Australian Inline Hockey Skate Australia's (R) National Inline Hockey titles are on in a few weeks (in Perth) and we are lucky enough to have representatives in the Veteran's, Senior Women's, Junior Women's, 21's, and 13's divisions. Good luck to them too!
Skate Shop sales, especially our online sales have reached mammoth proportions and we are currently awaiting new stock in some lines, although our main sellers are well stocked. We are presently selling as many skates as we normally do around Christmas time, so deliveries appear to be taking an extra day or two, to some locations. Please bear with us, as things should be back to normal very soon.
14 August
Last month has been very busy with more birthday parties, more hockey players, and more internet sales than usual. For the Centre this has been interesting as we had expected a bit of a slow-down as was the case in many other recreational businesses, so we should thank all of our customers for their on-going support - thank-you!
Further to the above we have had and will have new staff starting at the Centre to help us cope with the increased demand; welcome. As always, we will aim to maintain the best and most value service delivery to all!
3 July
School holidays are half-way finished and we are gearing up for another busy week. Nothing like going for a skate during a dreary holiday, by the look of things!
For our internet customers, this year end-of-financial-year activities have combined with the school holidays and "supplier" issues to make thing a little more hectic than usual. Don't worry things have settled down now!
For all of our customers, remember, we have started importing our own gear now and prices will be even more competitive than ever. New stock arriving soon.
11 June
School holidays are coming soon and we hope you remember that we have extra sessions over the holidays but you can still book your parties during any of our regular or extra session times.
4 June
Much has been happening over the last few weeks, but first:
Just repeating the item on our front page, on the Queen's Birthday Holiday on Monday 8 June, we open for public/general skating from 1:30-4:30 and for roller hockey, as usual.
Many changes to the world of ice and roller skating with major brands like Bauer & Mission amalgamating, and Australian importers moving back to New Zealand, and new suppliers taking over distribution of Easton ice skates.
To serve you better we will now be by-passing some of the old suppliers and importing many of our own skates so that you will get more variety, better service, and importantly LOWER PRICES!
Stay tuned...as they say (trite, but true)
